Downtown San Diego, CA (Remote) Pay: Up to $35.00/hour DOE Duration: Minimum 1 Month (Potential Extension) Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7.5 Hours Per Day Start Date: Immediate Need

About the Opportunity

A respected Downtown San Diego law firm is seeking an experienced Temporary Litigation Secretary to provide high-level support to attorneys handling complex litigation matters. This is a fully remote opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and can work independently while collaborating with a supportive litigation team.

The successful candidate will support attorneys across a variety of practice areas, including General Litigation, Employment Litigation, Environmental Litigation, and Toxic Tort matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to assigned attorneys
  • Prepare, proofread, revise, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
  • Perform State and Federal court e-filings accurately and timely
  • Maintain attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case schedules
  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, and other litigation-related activities
  • Manage case files and legal documents within the firm's document management system
  • Assist with document production, filing, service of documents, and case administration
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, procedures, and filing requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, legal assistants, and litigation support staff

Required Qualifications

Top Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of litigation secretary experience
  • Demonstrated experience with both State and Federal e-filing
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting General Litigation practices
  • Background supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Employment Litigation, Environmental Litigation, or Toxic Tort matters
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented law firm environment

Technology Experience

Experience with the following systems is highly preferred:

  • Milana (Legal Calendaring System)
  • iManage (Document Management System)
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation: Up to $35.00/hour, depending on experience.
